ABOUT ME

IMG_4607.JPG

I was born in Jamanagar, Gujarat and grew up in different parts of India. I now live in Gurgaon and work as head of learning and development at a communications firm. I have spent a significant part of my career in the life insurance industry in India.

My bestselling book The Indian Millionaire Next Door, published in 2012, contains inspiring accounts of the professional journeys of India’s top financial advisors and has been translated into Hindi and Tamil. The textbook on Life Insurance, which I wrote in 2010 (Fundamentals of Life Insurance Theories and Applications) is now a part of the syllabus for B.Com/B.A/MBA in Universities of Delhi, Osmania, Warangal, Chattisgarh and available in libraries of universities in SriLanka, Malaysia and Goa.

Some of my commissioned business writing projects include a book on “business values” for an automotive company (Nipman Fasteners) and a sales and marketing book for an international insurance training organization (Kinder Brothers).

I have a Masters Degree in Management which I completed from Queensland University of Technology, Australia and East Carolina University, US in a joint program.

I have a keen interest in English and Hindi literature. My essays on Hindi prose and poetry can be found on my blog The First Word. I practice yoga and enjoy watching birds. I have spotted and photographed several resident and migratory birds in and around Delhi.
